Why do people have troubled knees,
With an ache and a creak and a groan?
Why can’t some folk bend with ease,
Without an ouch and a curse and a moan?
There comes a time when a knee just needs some love and gentle care.
It commands respect, and shouts you direct,
“I have need for a restful chair!”.
To rest the joints from decades of jive.
They like to remind you,
Thank God you’re alive.
Then just overnight, they double in size.
The knobbly knee is laughing at thee.
So don’t be rushing.
Make sure there’s a cushion.
Because, the way you may feel.
You’ll won’t want to kneel.
Unfortunately, they’ll not heel.
There is more to ponder about life, more poetry coming soon!
